SAN DIEGO, November 17, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Genasys Inc. (NASDAQ:GNSS), The global leader in unified critical communications systems and solutions that help keep people safe, announced today that it will be multi-year Zone Haven Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) contracts with four other California counties.
“Our evacuation platform has been deployed in some of the most difficult, dangerous and life-threatening incidents in California over the past three years,” said Richard Danforth, Chief Executive Officer, Genasys, Inc. “Zonehaven has quickly become a standard for evacuation management in the Golden State , which has been used in more than 50 incidents this year, ranging from wildfires and floods to police action and advice.
“First responders, emergency management personnel and more than 400,000 residents in Calaveras, Del Norte, Madera and Shasta counties will now have access to Zonehaven’s evacuation resources under these contracts,” Mr. Danforth continued. “Del Norte and Shasta join seven other heavily forested Northern California counties covered by our software services that are reducing evacuation time from hours to minutes.”
Mr. Danforth added, “These agreements advance our SaaS strategy and further expand our footprint in California. Our strategic investments to capture market share and improve profitability are gaining traction. Additional SaaS and hardware contracts from other jurisdictions are expected this year as we continue to expand our critical communications coverage across California and into other states.”
Genasys’ Zonehaven software services integrate hyperlocal knowledge to model evolving disasters and the resulting impact on evacuation zones, traffic patterns, and public safety. Zonehaven resources were used to support real-time evacuation alerts and resettlement notifications in multiple jurisdictions during major wildfires, floods, debris flows, active gunner incidents, police action and other threats to the safety of human life.
